How does the blur work?
Instead of a single cheap filter, the image is progressively downsampled in halves and smoothly scaled back up — the same near-Gaussian technique the Pixelate tool uses for its blur. The result stays smooth and even, without blocky artifacts.
Why would I blur a photo?
Soft backgrounds for text overlays, hiding details you don’t want to share before cropping, dreamy product shots, or blurring a whole screenshot before sharing it as a placeholder.
Can I blur many images at once?
