What is EXIF metadata?
Extra information many cameras embed inside the photo file: the camera and lens model, exposure settings, date and time, sometimes GPS coordinates and an editing-software signature. It travels with the file when you share it.
Why does my photo show no EXIF data?
Screenshots, images saved from social networks and previously cleaned photos usually have their metadata stripped. If the file is a PNG or WebP, it may simply never have carried EXIF — the viewer supports JPEG, PNG and WebP.
Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. The metadata is parsed in your browser from the raw file bytes, and the photo is never sent anywhere. GPS coordinates shown on this page stay on this page.
Can I remove the metadata afterwards?
Yes — the report links straight to the Remove EXIF tool, which re-saves the photo without any metadata, in the same browser tab.
