How it works

  1. 1

Drop in one or more .heic photos from your iPhone — or pick them from the Files app.

  2. 2

Set the quality if you like. The photo is decoded locally and re-encoded as JPG.

  3. 3

Download the JPG, or grab the whole batch as one ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.

FAQ

What is a HEIC file?

HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is the format iPhones have saved photos in since iOS 11. It stores photos at roughly half the size of JPEG, but Windows, older apps and many websites still can’t open it — which is why converting to JPG is the safe move for sharing and uploading.

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The HEIC file is decoded inside your browser tab by a local libheif decoder, re-encoded as JPG on your device, and saved straight back to it. Nothing ever leaves your device.

The first conversion takes a moment — why?

The first HEIC of a session loads the libheif decoder on demand (about a megabyte, then cached by the browser). Every conversion after that is instant.

Can I convert a whole album at once?

Yes — drop or select up to 100 HEIC photos and hit “Download all (ZIP)”. Each is decoded and converted locally, then bundled into a single archive.

Does converting to JPG lose quality or remove metadata?

The re-encode at the default quality is visually indistinguishable from the original — and it also strips EXIF metadata, including GPS coordinates. Pick a lower quality if you need a smaller file, or use the Convert Image tool for PNG or WebP output.

Can I convert HEIC to PNG or PDF instead?

Yes — the Convert Image tool accepts the same HEIC input and can output PNG, WebP or PDF (single image or merged multi-page document). This page is preset to JPG because that’s what most forms, apps and websites ask for.
